Stylized Map (not to scale) of West 7th Street Island Station Neighborhood

Surrounded by woods, perched on a bank of the Mississippi directly across from undeveloped parkland, it’s hard to believe that Island Station sits in the shadow of downtown St. Paul and is only 15 minutes away from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. Aside from the convenience of its urban proximity, Island Station’s location at the heart of St. Paul’s City Parks and Recreation Trail System means instant access to miles of beautiful trails for hiking, biking or cross-country skiing.

Island Station proves that one doesn’t need to be isolated to feel secluded.

HISTORICAL FACT

Brass UL Identifiaction Plate
The fire doors at Island Station would shut automatically when a lead wire attached to a release lever was melted. The doors were hung on angled rails that would allow the door to slide shut when released.
